Chris Ball Riding To End Poverty

Written on the 11 September 2014

A former Scotch College student is paving the way for entrepreneurs in developing countries by living on $3 a day during a bike ride from Seattle to San Francisco. Chris Ball is on a speaking tour of US west coast companies, talking about how we in the west can end poverty by enabling local entrepreneurs in developing countries.

Chris, 33, will cover 2000 kilometres to raise funds and awareness of the work done by Spark International. He is aiming to raise $15,000, which will help Spark enable another round of change-makers.

"I'm prepared for it to be extremely challenging," says Chris, who is now the CEO of travel site AdventureHoney.com, based in Sydney.

"My hope is that the enormity of the challenge will shed light on just how hard and indeed, unacceptable it is that half the developing world subsist on less than $3 every day."
