Onor Nottle stars in new SA film, "Touch"

Written on the 29 April 2015

Onor Nottle. Photo by David CrownWhen Onor Nottle's film Touch showed last year at the Sydney Film Festival, the sex scenes and nudity meant Onor, who was then 12, went to a nearby cafe for hot chocolate instead.

The Adelaide actress who is in Year 8, will see the film since classified as MA 15+ for the first time at its red-carpet Adelaide premiere on May 17, four days ahead of the cinema release in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.

The SA Film Corporation's FilmLab thriller about a woman on the run who hides in a secluded motel was shot in the Adelaide Hills with first-time director Christopher Houghton.

It is the second FilmLab film to open in a month, with Nick Matthews' cult thriller One-Eyed Girl in cinemas tomorrow.

Onor, 13, a student at Scotch College, has just filmed an episode of the chaos-driven Philippou brothers' online production, Versus, in Adelaide Studios.

Her mother, Sharyn, says she took a week off school and had a fabulous time doing harness work with the stunt team.

"There's a lot of fake blood and silly ridiculous behaviour and she really enjoyed that," she said.

The talented schoolgirl who started out aged five as a Theatre Bug has another premiere just three days later when she appears in numerous roles in A Kid Like Me, a commissioned work by youth theatre group True North for the Come Out Children's Festival.
