Scotch Class of 2014 Celebrates Year 12 Results

Written on the 18 December 2014

The Scotch community congratulates the graduates of the class of 2014 on their outstanding achievement.

Our open entry and academically inclusive approach has once again enabled our students to gain entry to a range of amazing pathways into the future. Our graduates have made the most of the opportunities on offer and in particular the support and expertise of our teaching staff which translates into quality SACE and ATAR results.

Our highest ranked student, Danielle Edwards with a sensational score of 99.85, is set to realise her dream of Engineering at Adelaide University. Danielle is Dux of Sciences with two merits this year in Physics and Mathematical Studies and a Research Project Merit in 2013. Claire Hannon with Merits in Modern History, French, English Studies this year and Research Project in 2013 is our Dux of Humanities. Sophie Woods who attained three Merits in Mathematical Applications, Food and Hospitality and Psychology is our Dux of Combined Studies.

Seven students achieved an ATAR of 99 or above out of a possible 99.95. This places them in the top 1% of the country. Congratulations to Danielle Edwards, Claire Hannon, James Macadam, Sophie Woods, Thomas Aspinall, Hannah Short and Katie Rattigan. They are part of our cohort of 34 students over 90.

We will formally recognise the Merit students, Scotch90 Club and Duces at the Scotch Commencement Chapel Service to be held on Friday 30 January 2015.

These results demonstrate strong value-added performance from one of the countries leading coeducational independent schools. By any measure Scotch is an exceptional academic school. The 2014 results further add to this reputation. Our students will go on to study in South Australia, interstate and around the globe. The SACE affords them this opportunity.

Our students grow into well-rounded citizens of the world through our extensive Service and Co Curricular program. This combined with the results of the curriculum program show a Scotch education is once again realised as great value for life.

We would like to acknowledge the wonderful community partnership we have with great teaching, the hard work of students and commitment of parents to support their sons and daughters to achieve a tremendous life outcome.
