Community Groups

Within the Scotch Community there are many different groups that provide valuable support networks and fantastic opportunities to keep in touch with the wider Scotch Community.

Parents & Friends

The individuals that comprise the Parents & Friends are committed to building the school community and to assist with fundraising.

Each year P&F members along with many supporters from the parent body assist in a wide variety of tasks from the large and very public events such as One Degustation and the Fashion parade to the smaller yet equally important functions, such as;

  • Transporting boarding students to off campus appointments
  • Welcoming new parents and students at orientation days, morning teas, year level drinks and many other friend raising events
  • Providing food and beverage sales and assisting with preparation and clean up for events like sports day and SAPSASA days
  • Facilitating the end of year text book sale.

The monies raised through the P & F contribution are used to cover any costs incurred  in carrying out the above activities and the remaining balance is added to any money raised throughout the year to purchase additional leisure, educational and teaching resources for the College that would otherwise not be funded through the College's capital budget.

Old Collegians

The role of the Scotch College Old Collegians Association (SCOCA) is to promote and develop friendships among members of the Association and the College community.

The SCOCA has a strong bond with the school maintaining an active interest in current and future developments.  Services provided by the association include scholarships and support for various sporting clubs. A host of special events are held regularly including the Annual City Dinner, reunions, community dinners and the biannual Back to the Blue and Gold.

Within the SCOCA we have many special interest groups, open to Old Collegians and friends of Scotch.  They include:

  • Football Club
  • Cricket Club
  • Netball Club
  • Soccer Club
  • Pipe band

To find out more about SCOCA and their interest groups, visit the Old Collegians' website at www.scotchoc.com.au

Scotch Seniors Group

The Scotch Seniors Group, are a committee of our older Old Collegians.  Their main role is to help the College maintain its links with the over 50 Alumni, through activities such as reunion luncheons and writing birthday cards.

They are an invaluable and lively team, and if you are interested in joining the committee, please phone the Development Office on 08 8274 4314.

Past Parents Groups

Many of our parents miss the camaraderie, friendships and acquaintances formed during their years at Scotch.

Joining our Past Parents Group is a great way to rekindle some of those friendships.  We meet 2-3 times a year for functions utilising the fantastic facilities available at Scotch such as the Drawing Room, the Pavilion, Barr Smith Theatre, the Torrens Boat Shed or a non-Scotch venue.

The aim is to give past parents the opportunity to get together on a casual basis every now and then, to meet old friends and forge new friendships and remain a part of the Scotch Community.

The group is currently headed by Bryan Charlton. For further information please call the Development Office on 08 8274 4314.

Parent Support Groups

At Scotch we have a number of parent support groups who assist with the various sporting teams. Their main role is to organise functions, raise funds and provide assistance with team duties as required.

Currently we have:

  • Cricket Parents Support Group
  • Football Parents Support Group
  • Rowing Parents Support Group

If you would like to join one of these groups, or would like to form your own, please contact the Director of Sport on 08 8274 4379.
