2017 Stage 2 Drama presents
The Big Meal
written by Dan LeFranc
The Big Meal follows the journey of one family over generations as they share a meal together. This play is set in any restaurant in Australia. Rather, it is set in every restaurant in Australia. The Big Meal explores what it means to be part of a family, how we deal with the inevitable process of ageing and come to terms with death.
Monologue performed by Ben Francis
The novel by Michael Morpurgo was adapted by Simon Reade
Ben Francis' monologue from Private Peaceful provides a poignant insight into a devastatingly dark piece of military history. Whilst much of the literature that came from World War One took the perspective of an Officer, Private Peaceful views the war from the point of view of an underage country soldier.
