Scotch College Adelaide is an independent, co-educational day and
boarding school offering an outstanding education from
Early Learning to Year 12
Many students start in Year 8 immersing themselves in the English language and Australian culture for five years, while others attend Scotch for their final two years of Secondary education prior to entrance into University. Our International Students share their country's culture, customs and history which adds to the learning experience of all students.
International Students learn to live, study and make friends in Australia. In an increasingly globalised world, International Students can make a great contribution to both cultural understanding and future economic and commercial interactions.
Throughout their education at Scotch, International Students work towards improving their English, achieving their best grades and developing lasting friendships.
During their education at Scotch, students work towards achieving their best possible Tertiary Entrance Ranking, enabling University entrance. Scotch students continue to be very successful in achieving excellent rankings and most go on to University study either here in Adelaide, interstate or overseas.
There is a full-time International Student Coordinator looking after the welfare of all International Students.

Our Boarding facilities provide country and International Students with residential accommodation in a caring, family environment.
Scotch College is within walking distance of the historic Mitcham Village and an easy trip by car or public transport to the city. There is accommodation for up to 106 boarders - with an approximately equal number of girls and boys. The students are housed in the Rosevear Boarding Precinct. A support staff including the Head of Boarding, House Assistants and the College Nurse ensure a high level of individual care for your child.
Some students prefer Homestay accommodation and Scotch has several local families who welcome International Students into their homes.
International Students require an adequate command of English so that they can manage the work in mainstream classes. If English is not the applicant's first language then the applicant will be required to sit a test before being considered for a place at Scotch College. The results of the test will determine any need for additional intensive English courses.
Scotch College requires the applicant to sit the Australian Education Assessment Services (AEAS) test which is administered in cities throughout Asia, Australia, North America and the UK. For further information visit the AEAS website.
After being assessed through Australian English Assessment Services (AEAS) offshore, the Director of International Admissions will offer students a placement at Scotch College commencing in the CLIP program at the appropriate level.
The students will enter the program according to the recommendation made in the AEAS test results. The following levels are available: beginner, intermediate or advanced. Students may participate in non language rich subject classes whilst participating in the program and will also be encouraged to observe classes they wish to enter at a later date. Alongside the daily intensive language classes students are encouraged, where possible, to participate in all aspects of school life; music, sport and co curricula activities.
Students are able to study English as a Second Language in their SACE studies. The College offers French and Japanese on campus while up to 10 additional languages can be accessed through the College's agreement with the South Australian School of Languages.
Please see further information for International parents and agents to cover the steps in the enrolment process.
