Grandparent DayJunior School Curriculum
Our curriculum is defined as all the learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom, which are provided for children. Implicit in this definition are social interactions between children, children and staff and the provision of a variety of resources, materials and media through which children learn. Scotch College aims to provide a diverse, inclusive curriculum to meet the intellectual, social and physical needs of its students. Students are provided with equal opportunities in all curriculum areas. Core subjects in the curriculum are English, Maths, Science, Technology, Society and Environment, Health and Personal Development and the Arts. Specialist teachers in Physical Education, Music, French, Art, Information and Communication Technology, Resource Based Learning and Literature, and in instrumental and voice tuition, contribute to the curriculum to help make the learning program a rich, relevant and exciting one.

Middle School StudentsThe Middle School Curriculum
Our school’s curriculum is dynamic, engaging and demanding. We believe that the school curriculum should be broad with built in choice to accommodate as many students as possible and that it should be reviewed regularly. Adapting curricula to take educational advantage of rapidly evolving Information Communication Technologies and digital information resources has established a national reputation for Scotch. Integrated use of computers across the curriculum enhances the contextual development of skills in keyboarding, word processing, desktop publishing, data processing, information access, multimedia applications and visual literacies.

Senior School StudentsThe Senior College Curriculum
The College aims to provide a balance between core and elective subject with an increasing degree of subject selection and choice, including a vertical choice between elective subjects offered in years 10 to 12. While the basic pattern of study is determined by the SACE Board of South Australia, Scotch offers within this pattern, a very broad range of subjects. At year 12, for example, more than 30 subjects are offered. Results prove that Scotch College students consistently achieve the personal excellence they seek.
