Reporting at Scotch seeks to provide feedback on performance as well as insight into corrective measures to assist students to achieve their best.
Reporting to parents is by way of:

Mid-term reports to parents by the child's teacher in the Junior School, or by the Head of House in the Middle School and Senior College. This is an informal report for students who are not performing satisfactorily.

End of Term, Semester Reports and Junior School Learning Profiles will be sent home to parents.

Parent Teacher Interviews are scheduled throughout the year.

Ongoing personal feedback to parents through the pastoral teacher. In the Junior School this is from the class teacher, and on the Torrens Park Campus the Head of House will intitiate contact with parents over a range of academic and social issues.
Junior School (R-6) Junior School parents will receive formal reports at the end of Term 2 and 4. These reports have indicators of achievement in all subject areas and a written comment on the child’s personal development.
Middle School (7-9) Middle School parents will receive interim reports in Term 1 and 3, which summarise the child’s progress to date and a comment from the Head of House about academic achievement and contribution to House and the co-curricular program. Full semester reports are mailed home at the end of Term 2 and 4. These reports include separate reports from subject teachers in addition to the summary sheet and comments from the Head of House.
Senior College (10 -12) Year 10 and 11 Students: At the end of Term 1 and 3 parents will receive summary reports which give a brief indication of the progress of their son/daughter. At the end of Semester 1 (mid-year) and Semester 2 (end of year), in-depth reporting for each academic subject and subject modules will be sent to parents.
Year 12 Students: An interim report is issued at the beginning of Term 3. Detailed written reports for each academic subject plus a written summary from the Head of House are sent home during Term 2 and at the end of Term 3. Students receive their final SSABSA results and certificate by post in December.
Academic Achievement, Attitude and SACE results: Written reports will give an indication by grade A - E of the student's level of academic achievement within the particular class group. Written reports will also indicate the attitude of the student toward the subject. An additional, provisional SACE result will also be shown on the ScotchCollege report format.
The College is responsible for the provision of assessment information to the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (SSABSA) for the accreditation of SACE units. SSABSA maintains records of achievement for all students. A printed statement of cumulative achievement will be sent to students on a semester basis. Statements of cumulative results are also available directly from the SSABSA office at 60 Greenhill Road, WayvilleS.A. 5034. Parents may request additional verbal or written information on the progress of their son or daughter through the Head of House, at any time.
