Scotch Preschool is located in the grounds of the Junior School and is a home which has been purpose-renovated in a secure garden setting.
Children have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities, both indoors and outdoors. They are encouraged to have responsibility for the care and maintenance of the learning areas by being involved in the displays of their work, caring for the animals kept at the Preschool, and helping to plant and water the garden in the play area. Their ideas are included in the daily program and they are involved in the planning of how the furniture and rooms may be arranged.
The Scotch Preschool is a state licensed premise and abides by the Department of Education and Children’s Services Regulations, 1998.
We use a variety of curriculum documents that support the principles fundamental to good practice in Early Childhood settings. A play based curriculum is essential in providing children with the knowledge, skills and attitudes they will need in life.
