So why teach? I enjoyed school life when I was younger and while studying at University, I taught instrumental music at a number of schools, including Scotch. I found that I enjoyed inspiring and motivating students to achieve their musical best and realised that my performance skills and professional experiences were valued.
Why a career in music and performing arts? I enjoy the thrill of performing and appreciate the effort and talents of other performers. A career in the performing arts has happened mainly because I have spent so much of my life immersed in it.
I hope that my greatest achievements are still ahead of me, but personal highlights include: my family, performing in short term professional music tours and recording music CD’s. On the other hand significant career moments have been: my various Academic Degrees, beginning my Doctorate in Education and taking up the Head of Performing Arts position here at Scotch.
In my role at Scotch I have found it enjoyable to be working with a group of committed and talented staff and students, arriving every day to the beautiful grounds and the exciting potential to further develop the Scotch Performing Arts program.
