Academic Matters: Week 3

Academic Matters: Week 3

Over the last few weeks all Year 12 students have been getting ready for their final examinations as well as our Year 11s who will sit Biology on Monday. This will be the culmination of 12 years of secondary schooling before they start to make choices for what they wish to do in 2020 and we wish them well in their future pursuits.

The target date for the 2019 SACE results release is Tuesday 17 December at 8.30am. Students will be able to view their SACE results and SATAC Tertiary Statement (if eligible) via students online.

To login students need their SACE registration number and also a PIN, if you haven’t been onto the site then I recommend that you do before December.

To receive the official documentation then please check that your postal address is correct, when in Students Online go to personal information section. If you need to update your postal address then contact the Mark Horley, SACE coordinator.

Forgotten your PIN? Then request a PIN reset early as this may be delayed on results release day.

A reminder if students are unwell then please make sure that you contact Mark Horley 8274 4219 so he can start the processes that are required for special provisions.

Year 12 Reports

The final Year 12 Report will be posted home to parents on Friday. The grades that are reported represent the 70% internal assessment that has been covered throughout the year, and the exam grade is from the trial exams in September. In some instances, this grade will not be the same as the final grade that students will receive on December 17 and this will be due a number of factors – moderation, exam results and scaling effects.

Year 10 and Year 11 examinations

Timetables for both year levels can be found in seqta. Students are expected to be in full summer uniform. The Year 10 exams will be in the Chapel and start on November 12. Students are allowed to study at home when they do not have an exam scheduled. If they have other year 11 subjects then they should be attending class, except if they have an exam. At the end of the exam period feedback on the exams will be delivered through seqta. Students wishing to change subjects will need to come in and see myself or Mark Horley before the end of the year.

The majority of Year 11 exams will be held in the Year 12 common room. This is because there will be machinery noise outside the Chapel during the day. Year 11 exams will be returned on Wednesday 4 December (Week 8). Students should report to the Lecture Theatre at 8.35 am in PE uniform. The day will conclude by 10.35am. If you need to change your subjects earlier than Wednesday, please make an appointment to see me.

Subject Choices

Since August we have been finalising student choices for 2020 and putting together a structure to enable students to receive their choices. The final list of what students have chosen for 2020 will be sent to you with the book list order form at the end of November.
