Building Physical Resilience

Recently our Year 5 and 7 students participated in a Scotch FIT2Sit workshop with local Physiotherapist Kym Siddons.

They learned that the best way to prevent the onset of a sore neck, back and shoulders, whilst also boosting our energy and productivity is to follow the simple formula:

“Two minutes of movement, every half hour, boosts your brain and body”

The workshops built on a staff session held in 2019 and a Year 9 film making task, where students produced a range of fun and entertaining 2 minute videos designed to get people up and moving.

If you ever notice yourself sitting on the couch or at your desk for long periods, a short 2 minute stretch or series of exercise movements can ensure you don’t get grouchy and slouchy, and stay smiling and smashing it!
