Food & Hospitality High Tea - Remotely!

Food & Hospitality High Tea - Remotely!

The Stage 2 Food & Hospitality students had the task of organising and designing a ‘remote’ High Tea for 20 guests.

Usually, the High Tea is held in the drawing room and is an opportunity for all guests to talk and interact whilst enjoying various dishes made by the students. However, due to the COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, this year the original High Tea was changed to a remote event using Microsoft Teams.

IMG_8261 copy.jpgAll food and beverages were individually packaged in take-away style bags and were delivered to guests in their relevant locations within the school. Once all packages were delivered the Teams video call was launched, providing an opportunity for guests to ask questions and make comments regarding their High Tea experience. Each element in the High Tea packages were well considered; including hot, cold, sweet and savoury foods along with a choice of two beverages. This was to ensure that there was a diverse tasting experience on offer involving a wide range of textures and flavour combinations. 

Overall, the High Tea was a great success with all food packages being pleasantly received. All of the students were able to receive feedback over the Teams call and it was brilliant to see guests following the recommended disposal instructions for all packaging and food waste to help limit our effect on the environment.
