Fred Hollows Humanity Awards

Fred Hollows Humanity Awards

This week I had great pleasure and pride in attending the Fred Hollows Humanity Awards presentation ceremony at Parliament House, where our two Scotch students, Nicholas Vrodos and Elsie Harvey were among the 27 South Australian Year Sixes who were recognised for their integrity, compassion and kindness towards others.

The Fred Hollows Humanity Award celebrates students who are making a positive difference within their school or community through actively displaying these traits and focusing on the wellbeing of others, in the way Fred Hollows did.

Fred believed that Australians had an amazing ability to care for others and help those in need. He used to say that the greatest attribute of mankind was our ability to help one another.

Congratulations Nicholas and Elsie for being terrific role models for us all.
