Indigenous Round 2019

Indigenous Round 2019

To mark the beginning of National Reconciliation Week, Scotch held its annual Indigenous Round of sport. A number of sports donned special uniforms to mark the occasion and students gave rousing speeches before the first bounce and tip off of the Senior Girls Football and Open A Netball matches. Michael O'Brien performed a stirring Welcome to Country before the Boys First XVIII game.

What followed these ceremonies was a sensational week in Scotch sport. The Middle School Girls Football side stayed undefeated with a win over Seymour under lights on Friday night, and while the Senior Girls fell short in their game, it was a hard fought contest.

The Senior A Boys Basketball side continued their run of form in the SAAS competition with a win 23 point win over Unley High School.

The First XI Boys Soccer side earned a quality win over Cardijn 2-1, playing in SAAS Division 1.

The Senior Girls Hockey team won convincingly over Trinity College (3-0) while the Senior Boys played to a 3-3 draw (also at Trinity).

The Open A Netball Girls earned another strong win, this week defeating Seymour by 6 points, 47-41. The girls remain undefeated and sit atop the IGSSA League.

Well done to all of our athletes who took to the field, pitch or court this weekend for Indigenous Round.

Director of Sport
