This year our Debaters have enjoyed significant success in the South Australian Debating Association competition!

This success has led to a large number of our Scotch students being invited to attend State Debating trials. The trials were carried out over a number of weeks, with the final stages being a process of illimation, to leave just seven students from Years 9-12 who will form the SA State Debating Team.

We are exceptionally proud that Winter Birkett and Thangam Verghese (both Year 9) have been selected as part of the 2020 State team.

The girls will now train with their new team mates for the next 6 months leading up to the National competition, when they will travel interstate to debate against the best of the best from the other states in Australia. 

Huge congratulations to Winter and Thangam for this outstanding achievement, especially as they have made the State team in Year 9.
