Scotch Netball Tour 2019

Scotch Netball Tour 2019

26 girls from years 8 – 12 making an As, Bs, and the development team along with Mr Goreham, Sonia, Tess and Bec travelled to Melbourne in the first week of holidays for 6 day tournament to compete in the Waverly International Schools Netball Championship.

We had the privilege to play many different school teams from around Australia and New Zealand and even from across the world. All teams played brilliant netball despite how physically challenging some of the games were.

The Scotch open As placed 9th after beating Concordia 22-20, with the open Bs placing 12th after a tight loss to Rowville 22-24, The development team is also a team to be keeping our eye on with very talented upcoming players that you’ll be seeing in the As in the years to come. They finished 7th beating Maribyrnong 23-7.

The best players for the carnival were chosen by the other teams, In the A’s it was awarded to Jess Chaplin and Kristen Nunan In the B’s it was Gabby Thompson and Georgina Taeger.

The development teams best were Lucy Voyvodic and Oli Steele.

The highlight of the trip was awarding people the title of duckmaster which included carrying a duck and a funny looking hat chosen by Mr Goreham for the day for silly comments. Ameli, Evie, Gabby, Zoe, Jess, and Kasey all were duck masters over the tour.

Overall a very successful carnival for the Scotchies and we are very excited for the next half of the season to commence. Big thank you to all staff and parents for making this trip happen.

Thanks Lucy and Zoe.
