Sounds of Scotch Choral 2017

Last Thursday evening, St Peter’s Cathedral hosted our second Sounds of Scotch concert for 2017 featuring our vocal ensembles from the Mitcham and Torrens Park campuses.

As this year’s music captain, I was very proud of our students who not only participated but also presented many high standard performances making it a very special evening.

The concert came on the back of a busy third term for Scotch musicians where there have been two College musicals as well as participation in national festivals and competitions.

Much of the evening’s repertoire had only a short preparation time but the results were truly remarkable. Of note were the: Year 3/4 and 5/6 Choirs, Year 6 Girls Vocal Ensemble, Hugh Whittle and the Six Foot Three, Flute Ensemble, Soul Collective, Senior Soulettes, Senior Soul Brothers, and the Combined Choirs performances of the Hallelujah Chorus and I Sing Because I’m Happy.

Significantly, it was Scotch College’s first performance in this iconic Cathedral and I hope that this is the start of new tradition as it was a fantastic setting for a Choral concert.

Please enjoy the movie performances of the College Song and the Hallelujah Chorus.
