Sport Recap: Term 1 Week 3

Sport Recap: Term 1 Week 3

Week 3 marked the first full week of Scotch sport, and our teams hit the ground running with some fabulous performances.

In Tennis, the Girls, Primary and Middle School teams all played well against Pembroke. The Drive team came up against a very tough opponent in their Division 1 match against Sacred Heart.

Our Girls Cricket team got their season off to a perfect start with a very convincing win over Mercedes. Our First XI Boys followed suit with an excellent win over Sacred Heart in a tough SAAS Division 1 encounter, highlighted by some top notch work with the ball and in the field. Chasing 186 to win, opening batsman Hugo Walter and Cormack O’Reilly set the tone early with a 55-run partnership. Cormack, playing his first game for Scotch, batted brilliantly for his 77*.

Congratulations a second time to Cormack, who recently represented South Australia in the U15 side that played in the National Carnival in Queensland.

Week 4 has a full schedule of SAAS and IGSSA sport. Softball is back in action and the annual House Swimming Carnival takes place on Wednesday (20 February). The first Collegiate Cup for 2019 also kicks off against Pembroke - stay tuned for more details as the week approaches.
