Sport Recap: Term 1 Week 5

Sport Recap: Term 1 Week 5

Sadly, the intense heat put a stop to all our sport last week except our First XI Cricket.

Our First XI Cricket Boys did manage to play a reduced T20 match versus Westminster (starting at 8am), and played extremely well to claim another well deserved victory. An excellent knock of 66* by Lachy Francis was followed up by some good fielding and tight bowling too see Scotch home to a great win.

Unfortunately all Collegiate Cup matches with Pembroke had to be cancelled, as well as our SAAS and IGSSA weekly competitions which was extremely frustrating for all. It is proving very difficult to find the dates and times for us to reschedule this term's Collegiate Cup. Instead we will rearrange this competition for Term 4 this year. We will still be able to go ahead with Head of the River rowing as part of the overall Collegiate Cup and also the First XI Cricket competition, played annually for the Howard Mutton Cup between the two schools, this will still be played as a two day game on 22/23 March as planned.

With the long weekend this weekend, we also have a short sporting break now. Here’s hoping for some cooler weather in the weeks to come.
