Sport Update

On Wednesday 17 February it was the Torrens Park Campus Swimming Carnival, with Douglas House claiming victory.
The achievements of students were celebrated at assembly, with the significant announcements of the age group champions.
The school sporting teams have seen significant improvements across Term 1. The Boys First XI Cricket team went undefeated this term and play Prince Alfred College this week in the Messenger Shield One Day Semi-Final. The recent performance of Cormack O’Reily, scoring an undefeated 106 against Pembroke, has put the team in good spirits for the remainder of the season.
The Open Volleyball team have seen a promotion to the A1 Division from their continuous efforts throughout the season.
The girls sporting teams have been looking fierce, many coming away with wins week in and week out, mainly thanks to the high participation levels and the girls who are putting in their best effort each training session.
Our softballers have gained a very good reputation, with a great culture and a strong skill set. Excitingly, the Open A’s are currently undefeated and have high hopes of winning the shield at the end of term. Both the Open B’s and C’s are competing well with wins under their belt.
What is also very exciting is that for the first time in Scotch history, there is a First XI Girls cricket team. This year, girls cricket is the strongest it’s been, fielding two teams. Again, a great culture exists with all the girls excited to see what the season holds - it should be a great season! The Girls First XI have started with a bang securing a win over a very competitive Pembroke team. The seconds are yet to play their first game but have been training hard and are looking forward to their first game against Concordia.
