Sports Recap: Mid Year Break

Sports Recap: Mid Year Break

It may have been the mid-year break, but Scotch sport didn't stop, with multiple sporting successes and trips taking place!

Our Girls Netballers travelled to the Gold Coast for the 2018 International Schools Gold Coast Netball Carnival. After 9 days of competition, our Senior Girls played in total 17 games, winning 16 and drawing one to be crowned The Gold Coast international Champions for 2018. Our B’s also finished an impressive 4th in the U16s Competition. Well done girls!

The Senior Boys Football side travelled to Melbourne to play the annual game against Scotch College Melbourne. This proved to be a fantastic trip, with the boys winning their game against their Melbourne rivals. They also had the opportunity to watch a couple of AFL games, and got a real insight in to AFL Footy with some unique behind the scenes access to Western Bulldogs and Richmond training.

We would also like to congratulate Alex Manton who competed in the U17 State championships and win the B grade trophy recently. A tremendous achievement as well considering Alex is still only 14yrs old. Well done Alex!

We now look forward to Term 3 with training and matches resuming this week. In addition to the regular SAAS and IGSSA fixtures we also have our Winter Sports Collegiate Cup versus Pembroke starting next week, followed later in the month by our Winter Sports Collegiate Cup versus Pulteney Grammar. More information will follow regarding these events very soon.
