Sports Recap: Term 2 Week 2

Sports Recap: Term 2 Week 2

Winter sport got underway in Week 2 with both IGSSA and SAAS competitions commencing across all sports.

Our Senior A Girls Hockey team picked up where they left off at the end of last season, defeating Seymour 3-1 with a commanding performance. On the Boys side of the schedule, the Senior team fell in a tight contest with PAC 1-2. The Middle School side defeated St Ignatius 3-1, while the 3 Scotch Primary teams had mixed results, with a win for the Cs and losses to PAC for the As and Bs.

Fixtures & Maps Information

Just a reminder that our sports fixture schedule will be available on line as well as emailed to parents weekly. Our boys affiliated sports organisation SAAS, have now created a web page link to all the boys’ sports fixtures and maps for the season. Whilst we will still post our weekly sports schedule on the website and email to parents, we will not be posting all maps each week from now on. These can all be found on this new SAAS website.  Please use the link here to find all boys sporting fixtures for the season and map links. On occasions where there Is a change of venue/ location that is not on the SAAS website we will continue to put these on the web pages us usual.

Our Girls sports association IGSSA do not have the same system currently. Therefore, as well as sending our weekly fixture schedule and putting this on the website, we will also put all the IGSSA girls season schedules for all sports on our website. Please feel free to use these links and resources to keep you informed of all the weekly sporting events.

Our Girls Football sides got off to a great start with excellent wins against Pembroke and Westminster girls respectively. We saw strong performances across with many of our Boys Football teams starting well, in particular a convincing win for our Boys first XVIII versus Sacred Heart.

In Boys Senior A Soccer our lads defeated Mercedes 4-1, while the Senior A Girls played to a 0-0 draw with St Peters Girls.

Our Girls Netball sides met tough opposition against Westminster but produced some very positive performances across all age ranges, with good wins for many of our Senior and Middle School teams.

Some of our boys also played in their first ever schools Rugby union competition last week. The boys played for the SE Harlequins, a combined schools team representing Concordia, Urrbrae, Unley, Mercedes and Scotch. Each school has a lead parent and a lead teacher helping to drive and communicate the sport. The team consisted of 8 Scotchies in total and got off to a great start with a convincing win against St Peters Boys.
