Sports Recap: Term 2 Week 7

Sports Recap: Term 2 Week 7

Another action packed week of sport saw our Scotch teams again produce some really strong performances across a range of sports.

In Soccer, our Middle School Girls defeated Seymour 6-0 to continue their strong form this season. Our Middle A Boys defeated Rostrevor 3-2 with a goal from the centre-line to win the game in the dying seconds! Our Senior Boys continued their strong form also, defeated St Ignatius.

There were many strong performances in Netball over the weekend, highlighted by the Senior A and Senior B sides winning comfortably 62-27 and 54-28 respectively.

In Basketball, it was a mixed bag of results. The Middle A Boys defeated St Pauls 33-25 while the Senior A Boys played to a dramatic 47-47 tie against Adelaide High.

Hockey continues to grow and succeed with more excellent performances in Week 7. While the Middle School side struggled against Pembroke, the Year 6/7 teams and Senior Boys and Girls all had excellent wins.

In Football, both Girls teams recorded convincing wins over Pembroke B and Walford. The Senior Boys played their first round after gaining promotion to the Premiership Division, falling to a very strong Rostrevor team. The boys showed fantastic competitive spirit and skill throughout.

National Diving Success

Last week Luis Fazalari (pictured) competed in the 2018 Elite Junior Nationals Diving Championships in Hobart. Luis has competed in the Age Nationals the last two years but it is a very big step up to Elites as he was up against other very talented divers. Luis had a fantastic event with beautiful consistent diving and achieved new personal best scores. He also claimed the silver medal in the 1m platform dives and the Bronze medal in the 3m and 7.5m platform competitions. Well done Luis, a tremendous achievement.
