Sports Recap: Term 2 Week 8

Sports Recap: Term 2 Week 8

After a slow weekend thanks to the Queen's Birthday public holiday, Week 8 was back to a packed weekend of Scotch sport.

In Hockey, our Senior Girls continued their undefeated streak, defeating Trinity 3-1. The Year 6/7 sides also fared well, with 2 wins and a draw in matches against St Peters A1, St Peters A2 and PAC respectively. The Senior Boys fell in a close contest against Trinity 2-1, just their second loss of the season.

In Soccer, our teams continue to perform well. Both the Senior A Boys and Girls had convincing wins over Glenunga and Wilderness, while our Middle A and Year 6/7 Gold teams both win convincingly against Sacred Heart.

Our Senior A Boys Basketball defeated Unley High, while the Senior B Boys lost a narrow contest and the Senior C side picking up a close win.

Scotch Netball had another strong week against Wilderness with both the Senior A and Senior B Girls pickng up wins.

In Football, Our Middle School Girls defeated Wilderness convincingly at home, while the Senior Girls fell to a strong Wilderness Senior side. For the first time in 15 years our Boys First XVIII played Sacred Heart in Dividion 1, playing with great heart, pride and determination before falling to the traditional football powerhouse. Our Year 6/7 Footballers managed to claim an outstanding victory against St Peters Boys, winning by 2 goals and were all smiles after the final siren!

Special Mention

Congratulations to Esther Boles Frahn, who you may have heard was recently selected as the South Australian Women's U18 Football Team Captain, leading her team to two big wins in Darwin last month. We're all very proud of you and your achievements!

Mid-Year Break

With the exception of Girls mid-week Soccer and Senior Boys Football, Scotch sport has commenced its break for the Winter break. During the break our Senior Boys Football team are off to Melbourne for the annual trip to play Scotch College Melbourne and our Girls Netball squad heads to Gold Coast for interstate competition as well. Good luck to our travelling sides!
