Sports Recap: Term 3 Week 2

The Winter Collegiate Cup is in full swing, making for an exciting week of sport where many games went down to the wire!

Scotch's Soccer teams got the Collegiate Cup rounds under way, with both the Middle and Senior A sides facing very tough Pembroke teams. While the Senior Girls and Middle A Boys lost their games, the Middle A Girls produced an emphatic victory, and the Senior A Boys played to tough draw against Pembroke's Division 1 squad.

In Basketball, our Senior Boys dominated in their Collegiate Cup matchup. In Hockey, the Senior A Girls continued their run of superb form, remaining undefeated over their last two seasons with a 1-0 victory.

In Netball, our Senior A Girls and Middle A teams carried on their strong form, winning both of their respective contests.

In Football, the Scotch Middle and Senior A Girls sides performed well under lights on Friday evening but eventually fell short of their Pembroke opposition. The Middle A Boys side secured a thrilling victory after a goal on the siren put the boys over the top.

Amazingly, after 13 Collegiate Cup matches played, Scotch and Pembroke remain deadlocked with 6 wins each (and one draw). This means that the Winter Collegiate Cup will be decided on Saturday 18 August when the First XVIII Boys Football side takes on Pembroke - please do come and support the lads and help us get over the line!

Well done to all of our student sportspeople who have represented the College superbly and displayed fantastic competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

Netball Champion Sophie Casey

sophie-web.jpgCongratulations to Sophie Casey, who recently Captained the South Australian team at the 15 & Under National Netball Championships in Melbourne!

The girls defeated NSW 30-23 in the Grand Final to claim the championship for SA for the first time in 28 years - well done Sophie and team!
