The Weekend in Sport: Term 2 Week 2

The Weekend in Sport: Term 2 Week 2

Week 2 was a terrific week for Scotch winter sport with a number of fantastic wins to start the season.

Both Scotch Girls Football sides (Middle & Senior School) played superbly to defeat Immanuel in both grades - well done to the girls for starting their season at full intensity. The Boys First XVIII kept pace with a convincing win over Westminster in the Div 1 SAAS Football League, responding well to last week's game against Trinity.

Perhaps the greatest highlight of the early season rounds was Scotch's Open A Netballers, who defeated Immanuel in the first round of their IGSSA League season 45-41. Immanuel Netball has been undefeated at the Open A level for nearly 8 years!

In Boys Open A Basketball, Scotch came back from an 18-point deficit after 3 quarters to earn a rousing 1-point victory over Pulteney, and the Middle A Boys won a thriller on the buzzer!

The Boys First XI Hockey side also had an excellent result, as did many of our other sporting Scotchies.

Overall it was a successful and positive weekend of sport for our Scotchies - well done to all of our athletes who always play to the best of their abilities and represent Scotch with pride!
