Year 6 Mount Lofty Walk

Year 6 Mount Lofty Walk

On 31 August at 9:30am the Year 6s gathered together to prepare for our wellbeing hike to the summit of Mount Lofty. Our theme this year is Leadership and Collaboration; we thought about how we might show these values / strengths as we went on our walk.

When we arrived at Waterfall Gully, we sat down in groups and had recess. We then gathered for a group photo near the waterfall. There were lots parents to share the walk with us and so we began our journey to the top. On the way, up we had a few little breaks to have water and take off our jumpers. The walk was 3.6km walking up and 3.6km on the way back. It took us about 1 hour and 10 minutes to walk up. We got up there at about 12:00.

As we reached the top we were greeted by Mrs Wallace and Ella with refreshing, delicious oranges. They tasted so good! We hung out near the lighthouse and ate lunch with our friends. The parents had lunch and looked at the view. At about 1:15pm we headed back down the hill. Surprisingly it hurts more going down than up. The walk took resilience and teamwork to get up and down the hill.

You had to be organised as well and have a positive mind-set getting up and down that hill.

We all had a fantastic day and enjoyed the springtime weather!

That's a wrap on Term 4 and 2019! Enjoy the summer break and have a happy and safe Christmas! https://t.co/CRKA1RkfyE
