Scholarships

Scotch College Adelaide values student excellence and diversity and seeks to recognise this through the provision of a number of scholarships each year.

Scholarships are awarded to encourage and recognise meritorious achievement and potential. Scholarships are offered at different year levels based on the assessment of specific criteria. Candidates are welcome to submit applications for more than one scholarship. However, if successful with more than one application, only the highest percentage awarded for an individual scholarship will be applied to the fee.

In most cases, scholarships at Scotch include up to a 50% remission of tuition fees for the duration of enrolment. To view the full College fee schedule, please visit the fees page of this website. Scholarships do not include the one-off admission fee, payable on confirmation of enrolment.

Scholarship Applications for 2021 entry closed on Monday 20 January 2020 at 5:00pm.

The Scholarship Process

All current and new students may apply for up to two of the available scholarships listed below. Applications are made online by clicking the "Apply Now" button on this page. To complete the application form, applicants must include their most recent school report and complete a covering letter of application (written by the student). After receipt of applications, applicants will be shortlisted, interviewed, trialled or auditioned (in the case of Sport, Performing Arts, Music and Caledonian) and successful applicants will be offered a place. Applicants who are shortlisted for interview will be required to pay a $150 scholarship application fee. Applicants who are not shortlisted for interview will not be charged any fee.

Scholarship Testing (ACER & EduTest)

Where noted, some scholarships require applicants to complete independent examinations. Year 7, 8 and 9 Academic Scholarship applicants will be required to complete the ACER examination, while Year 5 Personal Endeavour Scholarship applicants are required to complete the EduTest examination.

  • ACER Testing for Academic Scholarships will be held at Scotch College on Saturday 8 February 2020. Applicants should register for ACER testing here: Year 7 & 8 or Year 9.

ACER testing candidates are asked to assemble in the Drawing Room, Scotch College, Carruth Road, Torrens Park by 8.45am on the day of testing. Morning tea and refreshments will be provided for all students along with the writing material required for the examination. At this time, parents are also invited to join us for morning tea and a tour of the College, prior to the conclusion of the examination at 11.30am.

EduTest testing candidates are asked to assemble in the Mitcham Campus Library, entering via the carpark on Muggs Hill Road, Mitcham (by the creek). Morning tea and refreshments will be provided for all students along with the writing material required for the examination. At this time, parents are also invited to join a member of our Mitcham Campus leadership team for morning tea and a tour of the College, once the examination has commenced.

Tours, Come & Try Days and More Information

Scholarship applicants are encouraged to book a Come & Try day at Scotch College. This will allow your child to familiarise themselves with the school, meet the teachers, make new friends and be immersed in the Scotch culture. Families may also wish to tour the College in advance of submitting an application, and are encouraged to book a personal tour prior to the end of the school year. Please contact us via enrolments@scotch.sa.edu.au or phone 08 8274 4209. Please note, families wanting to meet with the Principal, John Newton, are welcome to do so at any stage during the application process, and are encouraged to book a separate interview by contacting enrolments@scotch.com.au.
