There is nothing that speaks more to the heart and soul of Scotch College than the Caledonian Corps

The Pipe Band and the Highland Dancers embody the Scottish heritage that runs through the College.  It is a rare Scotch function that is not accompanied by the skirl of pipes and swirl of tartan.

Each unit has a proud ability to perform individually but often present shows together under the banner of “The Scotch College Caledonian Corps”.   The Corps features the combined talents of Scotchies from the Junior School through to our Old Collegians. Over the course of a year the Corps is integral of all formal occasions on campus .  The Corps also attends off campus at ANZAC and Remembrance Day functions, as well as Xmas Pageants, weddings, funerals and civic parades.  In recent years they have toured to the United Kingdom and USA.   The band has been in attendance at three Virginia International Tattoos over the past 6 years.

The Centenary of the College in 2019 will see the Caledonian Corps tour to Scotland and the battlefields of the First World War. This well let us formally acknowledge the origin of the College as a memorial to those “sons of Scotland who fell in the Great War”.

In recognition of the importance to the College of the Caledonian Corps and in deference to our Scottish heritage  all students (from Year 5 onwards) are offered free lessons in either pipes, drums or highland dance.
