Leaving a Bequest
Scotch College Adelaide exists today because a number of Presbyterian families contributed to the purchase of Torrens Park Estate in 1918 to establish a school that would honour those that died in the Great War. Since then, each generation has developed and sustained the College with many generous gifts and donations to provide facilities, scholarships and programs, which have allowed us to thrive.
These contributions have established a College that is firmly focused on preparing our next generation to have the most positive, most enduring, most memorable impact on society. We believe that education not only fulfils the individual, but also benefits the nation and the world – when our children prosper, the world around them prospers too.
A Gift in a Will (Bequests)
If you share our vision, then please consider leaving a gift in your will (a bequest) to the College to help us enhance the life opportunities of young people and to secure the ongoing success of Scotch.
Making such a gift to Scotch is a very special act of generosity and foresight and we honour individuals who do this with membership of the Gratton Society, named after Scotch’s first and longest serving Headmaster.
Your gift will make a difference today as well as having an impact beyond your lifetime.
Who Leaves Gifts in Wills?
Throughout our history we have received gifts of all sizes, shapes and forms. Every gift, however small or large, is important and allows us to plan with confidence and to support students through scholarships and bursaries. Every bequest makes a difference and is gratefully accepted and acknowledged.
How to Leave a Gift in Your Will
If you would like to establish a lasting legacy at Scotch there are a number of methods that may suit you. These include leaving a fixed sum of money, a percentage of the estate, a gift of personal property or real estate or a residuary bequest. We would be happy to discuss your ideas or plans, especially if you prefer to tailor your gift to a specific purpose. The process is simple and all enquiries are treated in confidence.
