The Pavilion

Honouring our past. Building for the future.

A place to learn. A place to connect. A place to belong.

The Pavilion

For generations, the Pavilion has been more than a building. It has been a gathering place. A home base on weekends. A place where students have learned teamwork, resilience and leadership. A place where families have shared moments of pride and belonging. A place where Old Collegians have maintained lifelong connections.

Reimagining the Pavilion

A defining moment for Scotch. A rare moment to shape the future.

Officially opened in 1956, the Pavilion has both shaped the Scotch community and been shaped by it. Built for the needs of a smaller boys’ school, the Pavilion now serves a thriving co-educational College of more than 1,250 students and 280 staff.

Participation across sport, cocurricular programs and community life has never been stronger and demand on the Pavilion has never been greater.

The Pavilion can no longer support contemporary learning, student wellbeing, inclusion or accessibility. Delaying the project risks constraining participation, limiting opportunity and falling short of what our students, community and Old Collegians deserve.

The transformation of the Pavilion is part of the next phase of Scotch’s long-term Master Plan. It represents a significant investment in our sporting, learning and community environments.

The Pavilion project has already gained strong momentum, reflecting a deep belief in the project and setting the benchmark for the community.

“For generations, the Pavilion has shaped our community and, in turn, has been shaped by it. We now have a responsibility to ensure this important place continues to serve our students and our community in ways that reflect who we are today and where we are heading. I invite our community to stand with us and help deliver a Pavilion that will support learning, connection and belonging for decades to come.”

Chair of Council

Our Vision

Building for today and tomorrow. The reimagined Pavilion will be a dynamic, multi-purpose sporting and learning environment and a welcoming community hub for students, staff, families and Old Collegians to come together.

Be Part of the Story

Scotch College has a proud history and strong sense of identity – never a place that stands still.

Transforming the Pavilion represents a commitment to progress, community and future generations of students.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help turn vision into reality.

The new facility will feature

  • safe and secure change rooms and facilities,
  • learning, community and flexible function spaces,
  • increased storage areas,
  • a large wrap around deck for spectators and spaces to connect, and
  • improved accessibility and amenities.

A place for today. A legacy for tomorrow. A bridge for our community.

Matilda and Polly Scholz“Since 1956, every Scotch student has stepped onto the Pavilion in some way. For me, it was where friendships were built, confidence grew and leadership began. As a School Captain and now playing in the AFLW, I can see how those everyday moments shape who you become. A new Pavilion means the next generation of Scotch students will have even more opportunities to grow, connect and belong.”
