Scotch College Foundation

Philanthropy Sustainability Stewardship

The Scotch College Foundation was established in 1988 to advance the College and assist it in achieving its broader educational aspirations.

The Foundation is governed by an independent skills-based Board, tasked with achieving the core purposes of the Foundation, Philanthropy, Sustainability and Stewardship. The Board are also responsible for the management, allocation and administration of the monies entrusted to, and invested by, the Foundation through tax deductible gifts to its Building, Education and Scholarship Endowment Funds.

The Foundation’s first project was assisting in the development of the Multi-Purpose Hall on the Mitcham Campus in the 1990s. Since then, the Foundation, through gifts to the Building Fund, has helped raise close to $20 million for a range of projects, including the Purruna Spencer Newton Centre, Webb Science Centre and the Rosevear Boarding Precinct.

The Scholarship Endowment Fund has grown to $6.5 million, generating income to provide scholarship opportunities for day and boarding students. Together with gifts to the Education Fund, these funds assist the College’s broad scholarship offerings based on merit, access and diversity.

Endowment Funds are invested and managed under a policy to ensure the long-term preservation of capital so the Foundation can continue to support the strategic scholarship priorities of Scotch College Adelaide.
